Top thread, so many excellent photos and...mine ain't them 
but... due to FOMO, I went out in the rain tonight and took some abstract shots of the Boulevard's that I was working on today. 
I am not even sure the growth on the bark is healthy but I love the look.

Though not a bonsai, here's a tree with amazing bark. It's a black locust, (robinia pseudoacacia) native to North America. I saw this on a walk through a small historic town in Germany recently and had to stop to take a picture. I'm obviously as crazy as the rest of you bonsai nuts.
