Top thread, so many excellent photos and...mine ain't them :shake: but... due to FOMO, I went out in the rain tonight and took some abstract shots of the Boulevard's that I was working on today. ;) I am not even sure the growth on the bark is healthy but I love the look. :roll:

I'm not sure that taking pics of bark in general is healthy but I for one am enjoying all the posts!

Though not a bonsai, here's a tree with amazing bark. It's a black locust, (robinia pseudoacacia) native to North America. I saw this on a walk through a small historic town in Germany recently and had to stop to take a picture. I'm obviously as crazy as the rest of you bonsai nuts. ;)

Not mine but here are photos of nebari and bark on a Radiata Bonsai that I saw at the Waverley Bonsai Group show last weekend. A very interesting tree ... :imo:
