Just to keep all my records up to date - repotted this today along with my JBP ... (new soil/same pot)

Again - lovely tree... but the star of the show seems to have exited stage door left. Bring back the cat! ;)

It was a one time gig for him I think... could be a while!

Just returned from a short family holiday (just over 10 days) and it is amazing how much stuff can change in such a short period of time.
This JRP has seen obvious candle extension and a noticable shift in the foliage colour, moving from yellow to green. These are good signs I think that decandling will be an option this year as I had planned. I have been fertilising diligently in preparation so all is on track!

Probably won't decandle him this year ... he's not turning green and is on a less than ideal fertiliser regime.

First time decandling a red pine ... we'll see how it goes - needle reduction would be good!

Happy with the way the needles are reducing, this should look a bit different in a year or so from now after the next decandling.

Made my day.

I think this is my favourite tree of yours; albeit I might change with the next tree you post.

It is possibly my favourite cat in all of Bonsai; sorry to other cats.

It is definitely my favourite cat/bonsai combo.

And on an unrelated note, near your joint ... Bread Club ... if you haven't tried it... do. And a wander in the bookshop a few doors up...

Dunno about the rest but he definitely has an affinity with this tree. He doesn’t bother hanging around for too many others when they’re on the table.
As for Bread Club and the bookstore, I get frequent flyer points at both! Ironic I s’pose given I can’t actually fly anywhere... :P
Seriously though, both are well frequented...

Cheers! I assume you’re talking about the tree but I guess it could be the cat... either way, I’m glad you like it!
