Massive show, record crowds, and a really outstanding display. Sorry about the quality, they're all quick phone pics, and some are shockers, but you can see the shapes, at least.

LOL, sorry, I didn't bother checking to see if I could read the label, but I can. It's a Tiger Bark Fig, Ficus retusa, apparently. And it is MASSIVE! It looks like three large trunks joined together!

Thanks for the pics Mel. Hard to pick a favourite amongst that lot, but I did keep coming back to the windswept crepe myrtle.

Edit: ...which I've just realised is your tree Mel! Nicely done. I knew I'd seen it somewhere before so had a quick search of the forums.

The show had a lot of outstanding trees though, I must say, and I can't fault the Best in Show. (And it's a Procumbens!)

The best in show belongs to a certain gentleman from Bundaberg with this stunning Juniper


It was great to see him and his wife back showing at Bimer. He has had a few rough years and it was fitting that his tree won this year.

Runner up for Best in show and also winner of the BCI medal. This clero is fabulous.


The photo doesn't do this tree justice - it is less than 150mm high. Stunning !

Presidents choice and well deserved. And yes Mel it is a Gil tree !
