I hope the hail didn't cause too much of a setback for you. Still looks like the beginnings of a really nice structure. How are those chops healing?

Also, how do you go with frosts in your area? I imagine mine will need some frost protection during the colder months...

Hey Fly another word for set back can be "change" or "shift" of direction. In the big scheme of things all is well the trees will carry on! Like all figs it does need protection from medium to heavy frost, the light ones haven't bothered it too much but i do mean light. I am happy with the structure thankyou, always cutting back for direction,and taper,not to mention thinning out !!! The chops are slowly but surely rolling. The base is approx 100mm + so they are pretty big chops. After the flat bottom, a beautiful set of flat radial roots have formed. Typical of all my root work for those of you who have followed it.

Do you reopen the edges of the rolling bark to aid in the healing, or is it just left to do its thing?
How is your new bonsai growing site doing?

For whatever reason that Ficus looks like a curvacious woman, very well shaped

Hi Dario thanks , i dont open the wounds intentionally,however i do clean the wood a little and give the edges a scratch {with the dremel} The growing fields have gone gang buster im told ( must get up there) and no the hail missed them.

Defoliated, pruned and thinned hard and repotted ready for another year... This tree is realy coming into its own now, i just love the way it powers on !!!
