Big black ferral pigs move fast but the slightly smaller ones even faster.
Seen both over here big ferral cats as well. Is that why you moved over there Brett

I had considered a pig Pup. But this thing had a fluidity to it's movements it moved under the brush so quick and agile in a zig zag motion. I think a pig would have made more noise. I did not see much at all but what I did only made sense when I thought of a big black cat later. Anyway I will never know but I have been checking out the footage that has been captured lately since my last post.
It seems the government is trying to deny they exist while having one foot in the door for when they get evidence.
Like is said if they are big feral cats why are so many pure black? And the others Faun?
That footage is pretty good.
Oh and there is one called Kangaroo Valley panther not far from where I had this encounter seems there has been lots of sightings. I can't believe how close I was without seeing it. That's another thing Pup I don't think a pig will hide silent when someone is that close. I reckon it was no more than a meter away. Only when I moved closer did it decide to bolt. I am sure it knew I was there and finally decided to bolt.

Anyway sorry to spoil your thread Mase. But as they say any publicity is good publicity.

I don't want anyone jumping out of the bushes at me at any Bonsai meets either thinking it is funny

i have seen some big feral cats before, one stood nearly two foot tall and was about 3 and a half foot long, it was as heavily built as the ones that were filmed on today tonight but i dont see why it couldnt get that heavily built either with a full protien diet of our native animals they would bulk up pretty well.
the ones on film did have stocky heads though didnt they

as for pigs i have seen them stop dead still in the scrub to try and get away, they soon start moving pretty quick again when the dogs start chasing again. and the smaller ones are pretty nimble, have you ever seen a pig run in a yard when ya trying to catch it? they will zig zag too.

Why was it stalking at the edge of the track that my 3 year old had been by himself on I am sure that if I had the chance to go back and see what it was I could be proven wrong. The best question asked of the expert was. If these are feral cats does it make sense that they are all black?
Off course the answer was no!
But feral cat or not that is a dangerous animal at that size.

The wildest claim is that they could be an extinct Marsupial Cat. Now that would be cool

About 2 years ago I was on my way back from Singleton on the Putty road near Colo and my wife and I saw quite clearly what I beleive was a black panther cross the road in front of us, it was just on dusk, but it was very clear as it was too large to be a cat and moved nothing like a dog or wallaby.I do beleive Panthers exist in our bush.

If we want to be technical "panthers" aren't an animal. Pantherus is the genus that includes lions, jaguars, etc. "Black panthers" are actualy black jaguars.
I think it would be cool (albeit scary) if it was a thought be extinct cat of some sort

Don't make apologies for making a rather boring thread (thaqt I started) into a very interesting panther/black cat/feral pig wild animal documentary thread , i walk away for 24 hours and I feel like I need to set up some night vision sensors cameras at my local surf beach to try and locate and film this wild hungry beast
It is amazing the amount of sightings you hear about once people get chatting.

Hey Everyone,
Well I decided to go and visit Mase over the weekend and wow impressive stuff. There is allot of wonderful stock there and I bought a great juniper. I will be visiting again over the next few weeks to increase my bonsai collection. I would recommend going to check it out for yourselves.

The Goulburn Bonsai Society is taking a bus load of "fanatics" down to visit in a couple of weeks and I don't want all you folks to plunder the good stuff before we get there. Of course you are welcome to the left overs after we have picked the potential champions out of Masons best stuff ha ha ha.
