Should look real good when all the branches and foliage fills out in the years to come.

I agree that we all should grow trees as we like to see and appreciate them, and not necessarily how they "should look" as per the rules.

If a tree is described as being a particular "style" and it is not, we should point out the fact so we, and all who venture here can learn. Certainly do not intended to criticise anyones efforts unless they ask for one

Totally agree with you on that , i belong to several forums and believe me i take some flak over my veiws .Some have gone to the extent of trying to explain to me where formal starts and stops, informal and slanting , using degrees to determine which category they fit . Bugger me i'd rather quit if i got that synical .The tree in question doesn't sit correctly in the pot as it is a training pot as far as i'm concerned , so from a different angle or position it may change to a slanting style .

Maybe you can teach an old dog new tricks , but short term memory lose and possibly a bit of long term lose as well its too late to "retrain the brain" . Half the time i cant even remember the species on which i'm working on .Shari happens when you get older , bit like Bonsai damage a tree and its never the same .Cheers Alpine
