Re: tree size
Having seriously downsized these past two years I fully subscribe to the wisdom of medium to small trees. I have purchased several trees in the last few months but basically bought them for their trunks - the branches will be regrown and redesigned. And each will be between 15-25 cm when finished. Even my 50cm trees are now too heavy for age and back problems. There are a couple I can't part with but I am working with lighter soils so I can keep them and moving on most of the larger ones... which aren't really large by current standards... but they are for me. Yes, it is VERY important to cultivate smaller ones as well as the giants when you are robust and active. The day comes and my god does it come rapidly....

Attention Shannon Keep working on the monsters they make impressive bonsai. I went to Shikoku to see the big commercial pine nurseries and saw these huge field grown pines all the growth was on the top of the trees and was being pulled down and approach grafted all over the trunks. The trees could be seen at various stages of development around the nurseries and were amazing.

Re: tree size
Cheers Craig, I love the big bonsai! I think you can put me detail in the styling than smaller ones.
I started off at around 12yrs old with small ones but gradually progressed bigger and bigger now I'm at 32yrs..... I would hate to see the size of the tree's I'll have when I'm 50
