Hi Steve thats a very good result ,i have tried this idea on other trees without success although not too the extreme in which you have shown . I wasn't aware glue could be used or was available .The glue in question {aussie brand}i would like to get my hands on some . I trial many different ideas and theories for personal experience , always hacking and chopping something .Cheers

The glue we used was Gorilla Glue - it is an American company (althought the product is made in Denmark)
I dont think you can buy it here which is a pity, can be bought of EBay at times and also direct from USA company. PM me if you would like the contact info

There are some other threads on this site where people have sourced alternative type glues but I dont have any direct comparison experience with them. It would be really neat to hear of someones experience with comparative types of glues

I believe that 'Gorilla Glue' is an expanding polyurethane glue - Selleys have a version in their 'Aquadhere' range. The stuff sticks like crazy, and you'd do well to heed the precautions about contact with the skin, hair, etc.

Sorry for the delay in posting current pictures.

I learnt (or re-learnt) a lesson with this tree……I should have put it in a grow pot and let it have its head for a couple of years.

Unfortunately I put it in a bonsai pot and what’s worse, even trimmed back the growth a couple of times. This retarded the growth and development of the tree significantly.

I remember a saying that goes something like … “Do as I say, not what I do”

Anyway, the tree has pretty much healed over as you can see in the photos.
The black or dark purple is the bees wax based sealer I use. It has healed underneath and is rolling over. Regards
