Same habits in this area too Matt. Tends to grow here in cooler, damp gullies so no wonder it grew so well at Bodhi's place. Sometimes grows so prolifically it kills the tree its on - I guess from lack of light.
Strikes easily from cuttings.

Again a stunning display and also its first Pea? or fruit. I have found a facsimile of a way to keep it a little compact by not repotting. It seems to keep it a little more compact. Next repot though i will cascade it. Its an indulgence i know but i love its flowering time, which, by the way, has been going on for a month now and doesnt look like slowing. I wonder if the pea is a sign it needs a repot.

Bodhi, I think we all have our indulgence specimens - things that will never make "great" bonsai but we like them anyway. But isn't that a good part of what bonsai is all about? If we're not enjoying it then we're doing it wrong. That being said, I like it quite a bit.

It has come a long way in 3yrs & looking great. Before I found bonsai an old nurseryman said to me "a plant will either set seed because its happy or getting ready to die" in the case of my plant in question at the time, it died.. somehow I think yours is the opposite. One thing I found helpful was to feed only enough to keep it green, combined with being rootbound gave short internode length, yet it still flowered profusely.

One thing that has always clashed a bit for me is the image on the pot compared to that of the tree. Will you be keeping it in the same pot when you go cascade? Maybe one of the other panels could look good as the front.

Brett gave me a much younger Wonga-Wonga 3 or 4 years ago and it just finished flowering a week or 2 ago. Mine is no where near the caliber of yours and is only a garden specimen. Maybe in 10 or 20 years the trunk will have thickened and I can start styling it?

Good luck with the styling choices Steven. This grows like a rampant bull in a china shop. I will get serious with it and repot it shortly and try a semi cascade. The problem i have is paying it enough attention but i am determined to do SOMETHING with it.

I collected this from a garden that was being redesigned. The top has been wired and has reasonable taper. It was growing in poor soil and very exposed conditions. No problems with digging.

Wow I didn't realise these vines could develop a stump. I have a question about the flower colour. I have a pure white one in a hanging basket and I collected the seed. Some of the vines that have grown and flowered have a bluish tinge to the centre of the flower. Does anyone know if it's common for the seeds to be a different colour ?

I always thought they were of the same flower and cant offer a light on this subject. I would be interested to know also.

Bougy, As far as I know, the white form of Pandorea is a sport & as such will do as your seedlings have, flower a different colour.

So, the idea was for a semi cascade and here it is. it recovered nicely from its rude change from a semi formal to a semi cascade and has forgiven me by giving me flowers. Love this little Aussie native. When it is finished flowering it will get a restyle and some wire.
