I wish you had not done this one Jamie.Jamie wrote:ok last on, in a tokoname like setting

When you display in a Tokonoma, it has to be right.
Unfortunately your composition is not. The scroll is in the wrong place it should be in the centre 2or 3 cms from centre actually. The Girl is looking away from the tree if it was in the correct position.
The three Items do not form an asymmetrical triangle because the Suiseki is in a straight line with the tree. Also the edge of the scroll forms a line with the stand.
Sorry apart from that the pot is the wrong one, for this tree.

Whats the betting he does it again

Cheers

Edit,Just went though your other ones I think your third one would be better suited to this composition with the positions as I have suggested try it mate.
As Ken said keep thinking. Cheers Pup

Don't stop Jamie. If everyone felt that way, Roger Federa should have given up ages ago. We need something to aspire to. I have no idea how you do the virts, so I can't enter.

The whole setting is flat and wide, pick up that wall hanging and place it somewhere between the tree and the accent.
Everything is dark, maybe a bit lighter for the pot or accent?
Im not even sure about the tree, maybe having the apex above the first bend would look neater?
sorry mate, I like the look, but if you gonna raise the bar on virts you meet the next level of criticism. There are things which still bother me. You will prob win anyway, but dont think it was because of a perfect submission.
