Bretts wrote:Sorry Antonio I edited to include that this technique has been used long before we started Bonsai to revive sick trees which I have stated to you before.
On the contrary brett, the only thing i have read in texts is to water as needs and no fert at all if the tree is sick or repotted. where did you read that these techniques were used on sick trees???

Bretts wrote:There are many people that believe they have written thier own tune only to find it is a tune they already heard ;) Soaking natives has been around for a long time Antonio this is only a slight variation that as you say is only logical progression with what we are all learning. I would not be suprised if Dennis was the first to use this with natives as he is a very experienced native grower that never sat his trees in water but just gave them what they needed which we know is lots of water.
I recently discussed how this technique was used to revive a Pine with damaged roots in a out of print Bonsai today so how can you lay claim to inventing it?

Oh good to see you are still twisting the words to suit your forever argumentative nature. Where have you seen or read that i stated that i invented this or anything else.??? This i gotta see! :|

I discussed this with you in this thread Antonio.
viewtopic.php?f=58&t=3867&hilit=lilly+pilly
Your treatment had little difference to mine(except I was tilting the pot) which I thought was becoming common knowledge for natives
I was just curious whether lilly pilly reacted the same as we have found many other natives do to this technique.

I also mentioned how this was a technique mentioned in Bonsai Today for a root damaged pine. I have leant this magazine out at the moment, I might get it back tomorrow and can give the issue number.
It is great that you have clicked onto this Antonio but I don't think you should be claiming discovering it :|
Maybe I have missunderstood you but naming it and not correcting people when they describe it as your technique is claiming it in my book ;)

You have all these radical techniques Ant make me laugh. I would never dream of pouring water on a newly root pruned native but will give it a bash next year and see what happens.

This one's called "flooding"

Hi Ant

I am curious about you're flooding technique. Do you have a thread or anything written about it.

Cheers Andrew

Hi Andrew, yes there is somewhere, i will find it when i get a chance or just write it again for you. thanks for your interest.
My nature is not argumentative but I am willing to go out on a limb to seek the truth. It is funny how far some people will go to avoid the truth :)

OK pal i will give you one last oppertunity to find for me and all the good people here; where it is written, that i lay claim to have invented this so widely used, FLOODING TECHNIQUE. or ANY OTHER TECHNIQUE.

one more time;

When one person is having a thought, so are many people around the globe having the same thought. Past, Present and Future. Thoughts are to be had, not owned.

This is implying that you came up with it
I know you have read about it because I stated thats what I was doing with the lilly pilly and told you that I also read how it is used to revive a sick pine with damaged roots.

So where plenty of others and the fact remains that this is proof that you have read about it before. Unless you just post in threads without reading :P
Sorry to make you shout again Antonio

Bonsai Today No# 82 What happens when we fail to transplant. I gave Pol a quick quiz on his Native after care and he over waters for about two weeks after transplanting. Since he has been doing native Bonsai for 17 years maybe he came up with it?

Hi Antonio,

I didn't realize you were even claiming ownership of this technique. This technique has been mentioned many times on the forum, and i know that Dennis has not received credit for it. Im not saying you don't deserve credit either (if you thought of it yourself.....well done!), i just assumed you had already learnt about this from the internet previously, being one of the more frequent posters.

The best thing is that this technique is getting used and spread amongst the bonsai community. Our Aussie native bonsai have the chance to really catch up to the world standard if techniques are actively used and spread. It will be nice to see how the tree turns out.
