Twenty months have passed, and this is how it is as on 13/September/2010. I did some trimmings
and minor rewirings on 12/September/2010:

The top is heavy. It has two main branches, each branch has three more branches. One of
the main branches will go. Of the remaining main branch, one sub-branch will be turn
into the seventh layer of foliage, one will be the apex, and one will go.

Still a long way too go... I sort of like this tree, but at the same time feel a bit
uncomfortable with it.

Please comments, I will get upset but am a tough boy, I will get over it :) I would
rather hear the frank and honest ones.

Thank you for reading... :)

Hi Daviet,
I believe the mini option suggested by Melaquin would make a beautiful tree and is still an option.
If you are set on something taller it is time to reduce the leader by at least half and grow a new one because the top half of the tree needs some taper. It is not too late to employ the bending methods which Jow suggested, although winter would have been the correct time to do this!
Q: Why are we all here?
A: Because we are not all there.

Hi Gerard,

Thank you for your comment. If we are to drill and bend it, how many bends should
we do? And which points?

If we do a mini, where should we chop it?

Thank you and best regards.

Hi Daviet,
I do not do virts very well but will try
mini option.jpg
bend option.jpg
This taller option is difficult in 2 dimensions as you do not want the bends in the same plane and you have the option to twist the trunk as you bend in order to change the direction of branches higher up.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Hi Gerard,

Thank you for the virts :)

I like the taller option much better. I have two minis already, and if my
July 2010 dug up one makes it, I will have three.

For this tree, the top two points of bending should not be much of a problem,
because they are still thin.

The last one at the bottom is hard. It is around 7 cm thick, and 60 cm from the
soil surface to the second branch, around 20 cm to the first branch.

The second point is where the new leader begins.

I like this option much better. I think to bend at the last two points, we would
have to do the split trunk as demonstrates by Mr. Leong Kwong below?

Part 1

Part 2

In this video, Mr. Leong Kwong split the trunk/branch with a single division, with this
tree, I imagine, we must divide the trunk into four portions, that is, make a + split through
the trunk, in order to bend and twist it?

I will rest it till next July (2011) and might be do it then.

Thank you and best regards Gerard.
