After a fit of uncharacteristically thorough wiring, I watched a lovely Atlantic Cedar die slowly over months - seems I may have separated the cambium layer in my enthusiasm.
No good deed goes unpunished.

Hi Gavin , the curl grubs ate the roots off this tree , had nothing to do with my tweeking the trunk . It took a long time to bring it down ,a couple of years working on the crankto lower the apex .Cheers Alpineart

Hey Alpine,
Impressive results from such plain material, I am interested in how you went about it. Did you bind the whole lot up and work it all down together or a bend at a time? I have recently acquired a couple of JBP and would like to put a load of movement into one of them.

Hi Matt , i didn't strap or wrap the trunk as the the process took a couple of years little by little. The wire that is applied using garden hose sleeves would work , you adjust them slowly until you have a happy medium bending one side then the other for movement .Easy does it but do it .Cheers Alpine
