Wait until I see if the cuttings take! Shouldn't be a problem. I would love a swampie, I think :D The cuttings are very small at present, you would be waiting a long time for a sumo style, but then we would be the only ones with this variety, looks like! Be an exclusive variety  But they do grow fairly fast, and lots of aerial roots you could train to fuse to help thicken the trunk :D

Maybe we could get it recognised as a cultivar in it's own right and have it named after us!

  maybe!!!

as for a swampy i think i can accomodate that! i have a couple of small ones, they are of a starter size but i have been able to put 20mm on the trunk width in about 4-5 months using power feeding and growing in water bowls, it is starting to butress a little too.

let me know when these cuttings take, i would say you have a high chance rate on them, and i will sort it out :D

Deal! :D If you power feed these figs I am sure they will take off, too.

thats what i was trying to ecplain dayne! i think i have a hybrid of midnight beauty, it has some very, very tight foliage groupings, and grows very very strongly, the leaves are quite small too, not as small as what glenda is saying but will reduce too!

About 5 leaves on the whole plant are a bit over 2 cm, all the rest are around 1cm length. Never been defoliated. A great little fig. You can see from my avatar picture which was taken in January how much it has grown in just 4 months.

gday glenda!

to me this is screaming benjimina, posibbly a variation like midnight beuaty, but the leaf size and the bark throw me off, the bark looks like microcarpa retusa so im confused, like i said there is so many cultivars and variations of cultivars it is extremely hard to ID exactly without getting scientific testing done !

i would be treating it like any other fig ;) and enjoy the small leaves!!

look forward to the cuttings :D
