Thanks for the advice Bruce,

However I don't see anything wrong with investing a little bit of time to make a couple of nice boxes. I mean why not? I hardly think that it will cause me to be any less diligent with my stock (or lack of), on the contrary seeing my young plants in a nice box/position would only encourage me further.

I'm sure once I amass more stock I won't put as much effort into the boxes as these first prototypes, but for now this suits me, keeps my partner happy and yard free of clutter.

they look great mate :) better than the styro boxes in the yard looking messy. these will make a nice look to your bonsai area ;)

with the fly screen be a little carefull as they can clog up quickly and impede any drainage, if you get some plastic mesh that is used in proper pots is the way to go, just cut the squares of it to suit the holes and wire them in, the amount of holes is good to mate :)

nice work :)

jamie :)

Dave, try the mesh tape in the plastering section of the hardware store, it's sticky on one side and comes in a roll.

Fantastic boxes, put me down for a dozen ha ha ha!!! I have to agree with Bruce just a little bit, such good timber would make a great display table.

Cheers guys :) appreciate the kind words.

I do have a bit of this timber stock piled. So if anyone would like something similar for that special plant.... or completely different custom made, just shoot me a p.m with ideas/sizes and we'll work something out. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some decent stock ;)

Mesh tape a.K.a "plaster jointing tape" works a treat! So easy and quick for so many drain holes. Thanks Mick.
