it's about to start blooming, ill take some pics when it gets all its leaves. it is covered in little bud's at the moment.
i get it slightly more bent and twisted every day where ive wired it little bit by little bit :D
how long should it take for the roots to form in the air layer, i used clear plastic so i can tell when its ready but don't have a clue how long it'll take ;)

As Craig stated they are typically grown as clumps. If put in a big grow box or ground, cut back hard and fed aggressively they just keep suckering and the clump gets bigger. Clip and grow them, the more directional changes the better. here is a pic Jarrod put up last week. Jow also has a nice one somewhere here.

Yep Ant has shown you the way to grow flowering quince, on the odd occasion I have seen one on a single trunk but only if the tree is really old and the trunk thick. Theres not much point in wiring just prune for a silhouette.

jarrods quince is sweet i love that, im leaving it up to hannah with what she wants to do with it. but i wouldn't mind using the tops of it for shohin or mame thats why i air layered them, do they flower in spring in our climate?

Not actually my quince mate, I wish. That's a tree I saw in a nuresy in japan. I am trying to develop one at the moment.
