Great stuff Ant. Its progressions/demos like this that makes us want to be more adventurous and try things out. As you said earlier in another thread, you do layers on very ordinary stock, not to get more trees but to gain expierience doing it so when you do want to do it on good material you will be able to tackle it with confidance! Thanks for your time mate. Looking forward to the next one.

Antonio, good story mate, i liked the read. Brave boys doing this type of operation. As you said in the beginning though, the tree was not a very valuable tree, but a pine with a nice thick trunk and good nebari is not nice to throw away or neglect. So something had to be done to make it more interesting.
the imagination of some people to think to do all this to a plant to get something more interesting to it, hollowing, wire stuffing, this that and the other, clever minds...
How long was the process?

hey marc they had this work done in 1.5 hrs. as i said quentin had already hollowed out the bulk of the trunk during the week. its all in the preperation and assistance. having a clear and decisive mind about where your going also helps. these guys do alot of this kind of thing.

It was a good night all in all.... Hopefully a good indicator of things to come this year. The tree really needed further wireing and needle plucking but all in all it was a good outcome from the starting stock....

Hi Antonio,
This operation is not for faith-hearted like me

I have spoken to both the gentleman who did the carving and the young gentleman in whitish shirt.
But I do not know their names.
Cheers.
