Well if you need any designs i have millions on them and can explain them if you want, there simple and easy if you can understand my designs and all of them have worked out for me. But there not as big as yours is. mine normally are about a foot length but depends on the design and some only have one plant to go with them or a few so yeah.

I love it Ian! What a unique idea. Looks good now but it should look really sweet when it gets some age to it.
Maybe we could run a competition or study group to design an Australian scene? Food for thought.

Hi Steven , with some growth and a bit of weathering to tone down the colour it should and will only improve the landscape .It was a good project while the new computer was rebuilt twice then replaced .I think i may have suffered a little withdrawal symptom or 2 not being able to participate in the forum .This was time well spent and i do like the idea of a Aussie Landscape comp' , i'm sure there are lots of member who would like to step outside the Square , so to speak and challenge themselves .Research is essentual , i had computer issues which restricked online searches however i had the best help prior to this. No rules but it is pleasing to the eye . Cheers Alpine

You really have stepped outside the square with this one. I do not think it is a problem if the rocks and landscape overshadow the trees, the composition looks "real"

Hi Gerard , pop a tree in front of Ayers Rock and thats a lot of rock .I have tried to keep it as natural as possible , the Bungles were the inspration but have very little tree life with limited research {no computerfor 6-8 weeks } the Kimberley was decided on as i have spent some time up there .Cheers

Just a quick question regarding the cement render pots . Did you make the moulds yourself ?
If yes what from .

Hi benny350 , It should look rather good in a season or 2 if i don't kill it in the meantime .

Hi boom64 , no moulds mate , freehand render cast , hand moulded then carved prior to full curing .Bondcrete slows the curing time and strengthens the render , waterproofing is only a bonus . The initial start was scrunched up wet newspaper for the hollow sections and basic shape formed over that , but that changes as the render is added .Remove the damp paper prior to full curing but carve and style the render before removing the paper or you will end up with a lot of rock looking fragments . A simple wood rasp works a treat for shaping the green render .This was my first effort at moulding cement render .Building Trade background does help with materials and there uses

Hi Harto's , i'm very happy with the finished item . I would have been nice to have more advanced stock ,but the aim behind the exercise is to Promote Natives and use the cheapest possible plants , all up it cost $25 for 18 tubes and most had self sown items equating to 38 plants .Tubes are good if you look for the roughies with a bit of character , a bonus if the have self sown seedlings included.A double bonus if they give them to you for half price

Wow....thats amazing. Love your work. There is a site dedicated to the art of making your own rocks from rubble and cement
and the whole lot of Australia Zoo and the Theme Parks in Queensland were done this way. I was planning a raised Koi Pond in
my garden using this method but some of the idea's may work for others here too.

Hi Jase , here we go fella's check out this site its a ripper, DVD not include but it gives a brief detail on how too or lash out and buy a copy .I used a similar method to make a BIG pot i will post it up .Amazing what you can find with a bit of research Thanks Jase .Cheers Alpine

Hi Bodhi , Maaate it a 2 man tray .No seriously i have a trolley it sits on and i slid it into the ute and out agian .It was on display at the Local Horticultural show last weekend along with a dozen other works . Its actually lighter than the 25 kg P.J Ishitsuki .Premanent display at a nice nursery ? , til then it resides outside where i can recieve a little bit out the outback serenity whilst visiting Ausbonsai .P.S The wife did assist to make sure i didn't injure myself or break the bugger .Cheers Alpine

Well and truely over grown and in need of a hair cut , tomorrow is another day so i may get a trim It should tidy up OK , a couple of species have died but that neither here nor there . .

Mate this is looking awesome. With bit of trim it should come up a treat. A little while ago Steven was asking for comp ideas and I think this would have been great. What a challenge outside the ordinary. What ever your doing it is working, those trees look really healthy.
