Don'T trust the people that looked after the president of the Bonsai society of WA.
She lost 50% of her collection some of the native stuff was to Die for.
Bloody shame the people she trusted are not on her Christmas card list any more.

Nice nebari... not often you get a tree with such a spreading surface root system.

Re your nebari.... you can get wood hardeners that will help maintain the integrity of the deadwood. I have used one and then applied lime sulphur. I've been taught that you don't really detail carving on softwood trees the way you can on hardwoods because of the deterioration factor.

Yep Mela it did have a great root spread. Did you notice that is all dead wood? I gatherd that I would lose it all one day but I only got three years out of it. Using lime sulfur minwax wood hardener and also putting gravel under the deadwood to stop it staying wet. I didn't use the wood hardener one year and the rot took over.
I had fun working with it over my first three years though. I even won a prize in a local flower show.

It had a live vien running down the back.
I enjoyed trying to find a tree in it. Thye last pic I have before the rot set in
