Very nice Mitchell I have been trying to capture the last pic with the moving stars but unable to with my Pentax X 90. The stars out here are fantastic. With this camera i am unable to change lenses .I'm getting the idea with sunsets

On an electron microscope, a shake of .0001mm would lose the subject entirely! they are usually placed in basements to reduce building sway, Our first lab was one of the very few in the world to have a view, but strategically placed at building corner for stability.

Great stuff Mitchell. A few years ago I invested in a decent prosumer camera. Fuji Finepix 6500. One of the features I liked was decent macro/super macro capabilities.
You got me motivated to have another muck around with this taking some insect pictures.
This is the best I got. I will see if I can get some spiders for you.

My camera is old, shocking quality, low MP but it has a special place. Me and it have fallen down staircases, swum through creeks, climbed the highest trees, been covered in sand,dirt/mud and many other things including frying my eyeball. Yes I know that sunset is pretty and making the sun "flare" in the lens looks great, but damn colour blindness and retina burn is not fun.

Like a tank on rollerblades and called a jewelled spider I actually like the webs more than the spiders, the variety & intricacy of some of them is amazing, one of my favorites spin an amazing 3D web.

Yup, that's exactly what I'm talking about Matt. Could only see shades of orange for two days, when I could open my eye. Though was doing that for several minutes.


Chris, really? A pet, that is pretty full on, though I did have a redback for a while as a child in my room as a pet in a jar.

Another few macro shots.

All still done with an 8 year old DSLR and a reversed slr lens in front of it. You can hold it there, or tape it on with electrical tape. Costs nothing, but can reveal a whole world, you would never know even existed.

Here's something I was experimenting with long before DSLR video was introduced. This is a 350d Canon taking continuous shots of a cacti, with a few critters running over it. Remember this is an old camera taking what seems to be jumpy macro video.
