All who were there yesterday were treated to the discussion and planning of this radiata. Come spring it will have a new apex and some branching grafted back on to it. We have now pulled down the available branching to start developing and cleaned up the whips to be used for grafting. The rest was discarded. We will attempt the thread method shown here recently by Grant Bowie, possibly some approach too. Here is anttals sketch and vision for the future of this tree, later today we hope to post an update photo of the prep work.

Fantastic to catch up with more visitors from Melbourne, Geelong and Yakandanda (andca range ofvother places in between) throughout the weekend. This weekend is really worth putting into our bonsai diaries for Easter; year after year. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this a successful weekend... Visitors and Participants - it works because everyone throws in their support!

What a great weekend, we all had a ball. I would like to thank all our club members for their support & help, also a special thanks to Andrew Ward from S.A. who made it all the way over here just to help, demonstrate for us and have a good time. Thanks ANTTAL for your contribution to the weekend, the help on the big radiata, the great drawing which has now set a future for this tree, & also for your great friendship, I hope your weekend was enjoyable with us. I had a ball, great friends, great wine, great food & great trees. The exhibition had a total of 409 people through the door & was a great success over all. As Andrew said, put this weekend into your calendar as it promises to get even better. Welcome to our new members & thankyou to all the members of this club from far & wide. Here is a photo of the radiata as it is now, it will be superfed & await the appropriate time for several grafts. cheers, miyagiman.
