The final major demonstration of the day involved this magnificent Juniperus Sabina - collected from a demolition site in 2009.
This tree is the subject of a pending progression article in 'Bonsai Focus' magazine.

Peter Adams showed sketches producing three possible outcomes for the tree.
Option 1 - involved removing bottom left of the tree, tilting slightly left and building the future on the right.
Option 2 - involved removing all of the right side of the tree and reducing the foliage on the left giving it a windswept effect.
Option 3 - remove some under-foliage, and tilt the tree about 25 degrees to the right into a two-trunk raft style.
Greg chose to go with Option 3

While Greg busied himself wiring the tree with the help of Clinton,
Peter got stuck into the third of the big trident maples that were sourced from the Ray Nesci Nursery.

With the Juniper wired and trimmed, the plan is to allow the tree to recover for a while before continuing to the next phase.
