Im thinking of air layering the top off this tree but i dont think it will leave much foliage for an apex .
would i be ok to re pot and layer in the same season.?
i am going to try and draw up a few ideas for the style of this tree. will try and get them posted

yep, it has happened so just have to go on.
where I would layer on this one would leave plenty to work with for an apex. it would also allow light to hit the inner branching and you could get back budding.
