Hi all,

I had nothing to do with the set up of the show and I am very glad to say that the trees in the show were well groomed, healthy, pest and disease free and hardly a wire to be seen. Spring comes late in Canberra and so some trees were just coming into leaf and flower compared to other parts of Aus.

It bodes well for the display at the AABC convention in Canberra in 2013.

Well done to the show committee people.

Thank you all for the positive feedback and special thanks to those who travelled some distance to visit our show - I am glad you found it worth the effort. We hope we can make it even better next year. We have a 'thank you' supper and demonstration for our members and guests on Saturday evening. Megumi Bennett gave an excellent demonstration with very useful information on growing Shimpaku junipers - even our junipuer guru Jim said he learnt something from it.

And maybe some other visitors to the show have some photos to post here?

And for those who missed it Scott girded his loins and stepped up for his first (I believe) public demo at the show - with a talk and demonstration on developing and improving branches.

That's a nice couple of trees you've posted Scott, wonder where they came from

Yep, I did my first ever demo on sunday afternoon. I think it went pretty well, most of the time was taken up by questions from the audience, hopefully they got a lot out of it.

Yeah, hmmm....there seemed to be a common theme in the trees that were my favourites.

Two artists produced the 5 trees that I liked best! :hooray:

Overall the standard of trees exhibited was a great improvement over previous years, Canberra trees just get better and better...I'm looking forward to 2013!

I have had major PC trouble for a while, so this is a late post on the pictures I took at our show.

These were taken without a flash on a tripod with the white balance adjusted for the low light levels. I know this is a double up but it may give you something you didnt notice before.
