Really nice Watto, I love Hawthorns.
I like your new composition, the trunks really dance together. The Apex's are a bit confusing but I'm sure you'll sort it out now you've decided on a new front. For me the main problem with the lower branches is that they form a bar branch that interrupts the eye's movement up the trunks. Before you remove them try taking off just the left one and maybe the middle one too. Also look at the next lowest branch of the left tree. At the moment all the lower branches (of the top half) start at the same level. Removing that left branch would break it up and give the image some negative space to flow into.
Not sure I've explained myself but regardless it's a great tree, well done.
