Penny,
As you know terracotta is very porous, when terra sig is applied it acts as a sealer. On the 1st test pot I just coated the outside, out of curiosity I submerged the pot in a bucket of water. It held moisture longer than raw terracotta but nothing to be a concern. 2nd pot both inside and out were coated, the pot repealed water like vitrified stoneware. As long as stoneware is vitrified terra sig made no difference to moisture holding capabilities.
