You have such an amazing collection, you have clearly put in a lot of love to your Bonsai. Glad to hear you and your house are alright after the fires.

It is not yet after the fires. We have a reprieve with milder weather so they are not spreading as fast but are still not contained and definitely not out yet.
I spent a night burning out a section at Carboor so not too far from Matthew's place to strengthen the edges there but another section escaped around Mt Buffalo the next day and threatened Bright township. Plenty of other sections still not sufficiently contained so as soon as we get more hot or windy weather it is likely these fires will spread again. Fingers crossed that all the firefighters still working up there are managing to get some good work done on existing and new breaks. Maybe we'll beat it before it gets another chance to run.
We all need to remember that summer is not even halfway done yet. New fires can start anywhere any time. Everyone who lives in or near fire prone areas needs to be aware and ready to act.
It won't be after the fires for us until substantial autumn rains come and wet the whole landscape.

Neil is spot on my sister evacuated rose river friday night only to return sunday when it was downgraded. 2 hrs later it flarred up to emergency level. Hopefully from wed to next monday some rain will fall. Proberly not nearly enough to extinguish these fires though. Dry lightening is a real xoncern as the landscape is tinder dry.

The rain over last week or 2 has been relief, last I heard dams are up 40% and more than half of NSW fires are out, amen, now we e got flooding in qld, and cyclone in wa.

Gardening Australia need to visit your property. They could do a whole show there! Unbelievably beautiful bonsai collection. One could only dream of getting close to what you have there, Matthew. Well done and I can't wait to see updates over the years to come.

Abit of a update . A little bit of colour just starting. a few nights at 4 degress days around mid 20's at the moment . Hopefully some rain late weekend I can only hope . Everyone stay safe and well. I'm still working in dental just at a reduced capacity mainly because our patient load dropped off dramatically .

Autumn is full swing and most have coloured or dropped already . There are a trident maple, elm and a Japanese maple that got burnt bad this summer that I late defoliated and they are either starting to turn or are still growing .

The pot on the linden echoes the texture on the try trunk quite beautifully. I'd like to see the full tree some time, if you could. Very fine.

Gavin that pot is a early Pat Kennedy . I believe it may have been one of his seconds but to me its one of my favorites of his. Ill be pruning in the coming weeks will try to get a decent pic. Its a wonderful species to work with.

Its the last one to survive . I lost over the last 2 extreme summers 2 other bonsai larch and several garden trees. This got severely burnt and suffered a lot of die back. It has allowed for a restyle come this winter though . Its barking up quite nice though

It's bark has improved noticeably 
Mine are growing like weeds, we have had so much rain this past Summer and Autumn, 100mm in Jan, 150 in both Feb and March and 200mm for April was ridiculous! I'd send you some if I could.
