Hey Im interested to see if there are any updates on this topic, since i plan on trying this out soon. Im keen to see how this has worked out for some people.

It's been nearly 2 years since I started this one...
I'll repot it and do some training to the roots shorty and will update with some more pictures then. I'm undecided if I should cut the top back at all or leave it to continue fattening the base. What are your thoughts?

Wow! Tnx for the reply, its come along really well, I just did a whole series of cuttings over the weekend, and Im regretting not making more than 4 flares now on them. After seeing how well your cutting has come along, its gotten me pretty stoked. Is that ficus netaliansis? I used three different species to improve the chances of getting good results; Ginseng, Netaliansis and Benjamina. Has anyone tried out the different species and know which one works best? Because Im considering taking some more cuttings sometime.

Oh I also tried using this method on willow, will see how that works out.

Amazing results! How long should you leave them buried after exposing them for the first time? I last repotted my rooted cuttings back in June or so, and I'm wondering how much longer to leave them buried before looking at them for the second time...

Here are a few pics of one of my figs. Started after reading this great post. I have been using Tiger Bark figs, this one is 900mm tall .I am thinking of removing the sacrifice this year ? Cheers John.

When you say at about 1cm what does this mean? pellets 1cm apart?, pellets covering the whole area 1cm deep?, pellets inbedded into the surface 1cm? I am always worried I will over fertilise, but als think I may be under fertilising

So i thought i would give this a go with all the cuttings that i took yesterday ( from my crazy pruning event )
Hopefully some of them survive , because they are nice and thick to start with

You might wanna strike those cuttings first....

Not this slightly different method wich does not grow in a soil of dynamic lifter?

Yeah that tree was done using the "fast grow method"

Since my cuttings were last repotted last June, 5 months ago, when would be a good time to repot them again? I'm curious to see how they've developed under the soil...

Repotted one of the cuttings, wasn't much new though. I potted it into a pond basket and will let it continue growing.
