You need to keep this thread going Alp's, it could end up as long as K.C's "Sunday' thread.

Hi bodhi , mate when i finish hacking and chopping all the stock related to the topic I won't have any updates

.
Beats creating new topics for each plant as I can't find my original Shimpaku topic so it would be a nightmare keeping tabs on all these trunks
With a few hundred Pinus Contorta's collected it will make for a long lasting topic as well .
My tridents are still making progress too , there's a couple of hundred separate topics or 1 combined topic , much easier on me to combine the tree's into 1 topic me thinks .
I have never looked at the Sunday thread

, not time for that .
Cheers . Alp's

This had a rework yesterday after a chat with Shibui . I needed a good tree under 250mm so I compressed this down from 350mm to 230 mm to fit it into the category . It might confuse the judge or it may be disqualified but it will be worth the effort to challenge the judge .

, Yes I'm a bit slow nowadays but I think its paid off .It does need a good clean both trunk and pot but that another job for another day .

I can see where to graft Shimpaku onto it .These 60-70cm layers
DSCN3965.JPG
where taken off some stock plants I had here 6-8 weeks ago for the purpose of grafting this trunk ..
If i keep doing this I might have to take up Bonsai .

This was a break from life on lifes terms .Creating a Juniperus Chinensis x Shimpaku
DSCN4027.JPG
. I have basically embedded the grafts into the host using a couple of die grinders and carving bits
DSCN4030.JPG
to make for a better finished union .

DSCN4036.JPG
Each branch depending on the thickness is trimmed to suit the cutter being used , thinner branch graft a 'V' cutter is used , thicker branches a round cutter is used .

All done and dusted

These will now grow on for this season then checked next Spring if successful they will be severed .
