There's not much to show mate, I've found the reason behind people not using M.B figs.

Every time I get a good branch going it tends to keel over, Hugh Grant has had success with them so maybe next year I can work under his guidance.

The cutting g is doing very well though.

thats good news on the cutting not so on the branch development. I not long ago got a 6yo Morton bay from Bonsai at the bay. http://www.bonsaibay.com.au/ their down near my folks and I wanted a tree of that age as it is the same as my daughters. I have a few figs but no Morton bay. So it was logical to me to expand. Im going down next week and i will see if he has any pointers for you as well as me.

Good news, keen to hear what advice you are given. Alot of people told me to steer away from them and I can see why. Not a particularly desirable var. of fig, from large leaves to annual die back.

I feel your pain with These figs.. I have had this for 10 years and it was at least 20 years old then. It looks great for about two weeks of the year.

Interesting to see what happens with halving the leaves as appose to defoliation.

Hi Andrew,
The lady i got this tree from had advised me that if i didn't want too much branch die off after a root prune, i was best to leave at least 20% of the leaf behind.
They naturally fall off after a few weeks when the new shoots are on the way.

Regards.
