Before we all go racing off to by mantids to release in our gardens please make sure if you do go ahead with it to only use species native to your area, its quite irresponsible to be releasing random species into your local area so please do the research first or even better, catch your own, plenty around if you just look :)

Agree. Get them from your garden because whats the point of buying some think that might not be there the next day :imo:

Probably a better idea to build an enclosure big enough to git ur trees in I usualy watch them for a few hrs while I'm working on my trees then put them back in their enclosure I have lost a few tho.

As well as living on the stems, wooly aphid often live on the roots where the spray cannot affect them. If they keep reappearing after spraying with the soap you might need to bare root the trees and soak the roots in the spray mixture. Has anyone tried soaking the entire pot in Natrasoap to get rid of subsoil infestation?
Hi Neil, I haven't tried immersing pots in NatraSoap but in theory it should be ok. What I have done to get complete coverage on the top of the tree is immerse the entire canopy in a bucket or bin of soap solution. You need to wrap the pot in shrinkwrap and support the tree upside down with a couple of chopsticks or strips of timber.

Cheers,
