Have decided to adjust design when i transplant into a bonsai pot by shortening the hanging branch to the left. The trunk is realy good an feel the branch draws your eye away from it done a quick virt to show what im thinking

Much better design I think !
By the way, when do you find the best time to carve olives is? My guess was when it was quite warm as they are of Mediterranean origin?

In my humble opinion, I would direct the left side branches a bit more downwards, since it is a slanting style...after removing those branches...And grow them much longer on the left.

Like a pine? Why? I thought the aim of the game is to mimic nature?
Most olives put out branches on a upward angle or at best horizontally.
All it needs is refinement and ramification, and in no time its going to be one of the better olive bonsai in australia.

Ill grab a picture Sunday its growing really well from last trim starting to fill out again dosent need much more wiring most branches are where i want them now

Here is the current picture taken today after a light trim growth is nice an even on this tree

ill clip an grow from now to fill out foliage pads its ready for a pot now

Fantastic mate, what do you have in mind as far as pots go?
Med depth unglazed drum would contrast the deadwood and foliage nicely.

Yeah same thing im thinking will pot it up in march
