Iv had my maples go from 50-60 to 30-40 down to about 15, and thats thru natural selection, extreme wind and rain for a week and then unusually warm days over mid 20's.

Iv been reading that homemade tea's can aid in a seedlings chance of survival, just wantedd to see if you had tried anything like that yet.

No I havent tried that as yet, however I plan to try it if I am successful in getting my JWP seeds to sprout as they seem to be the hard ones to get past the seedling stage.

I read about the tea in the post on the IBC which I linked in my first post of this thread.

To me it is just an organic/non-chemical anti fungal treatment. I think it is only worth worrying about with seedlings susceptible to collar rot.

I was just searching my posts to see if I had a thread on my Himalayan Cedar. It turns out I didn't except for the mention of having 1 seed sprout back in 2012.

It, like a lot of my trees were left pretty neglected besides watering and the odd fertiliser as life got in the way of bonsai. And it wasn't until around 2022 that I gave this more regular attention.
I also have a quite a few of the Japanese Black Pine, Trident Maple and Japanese maple from this batch of seeds.

Thanks - I guess trees thrive and reward us when we look after them.

I have quite a few trees that were overdue for repots, and neglected for too long besides watering and minimal fertilse. Now they are getting some attention they are fast becoming some of my favourite trees in my collection.
