Thanks for posting those pics Bodi they are amazingly nice. The trees are bloody fantastic too.
That second pot looks like the same artist of the first pot I posted. I think the only one here that will be done for copyright would be me copying this artists design

vgarth wrote:Hi Bretts,
your pot looks even more magnificent with its feet on. I'm super impressed at how beautifully smooth the side faces, and the top edge are. My attempts are much worse! Dinted adn bruised everywhwere. I really really hope for you that it doesn't crack at any stage. I find hand building so slow (compared to throwing) that I don't see how anyone can make hand-built pots and sell them affordably. (But maybe I'm just a really bad hand builder.) '
I also enjoyed looking at the other pot pics just posted - they are beautiful and inspiring. But I just about think your decoration outdoes theirs, it's so elegant.
Best of luck,
Val
Thanks again Val, I started with hand building before I moved onto the wheel and yep it takes some time. I think with a few more tools like a slab roller it could be a bit quicker. Maybe one day when I retire I will get more serious
I am getting one custom made by Erin pottery at the moment. Before postage a 340mm rectangle is around the $100. I also need another so I am hoping Pat Kennedy has something for me at the Bonsai by the Harbour on the weekend. I like Pats prices I think he charges about the same as Erin but no postage on top. I will finally get the chance to Drill Pat for info on the weekend, I reckon they must make them quicker than us for that price
My pottery mate reckons I can make them but I reckon just because I can make my own pots should not mean I have to make them all
There is a great article on here about making oval pots on the wheel. If you haven't seen it yet I will link it for you. Also check out some of Lindsay Farrs WOB series for some great bonsai pot making videos.
Thanks again for the generous comments

Hi 5o5
I am in the process of making some pots to sell this year. I told myself I would not take on "commissioned" work as I can't guarantee a completion time. Bodi knows that
But never say never

If you are willing to wait I can put you down for one and if you are still breathing by the time I finish it I can sell it too you, do you have a size in mind?
Hmm I guess that would mean I have to give Velvet and Ken dibs on the first couple I make
My arm hurts already
