Great trees!!! With the clip and grow thing, when starting a branch from scratch do you cut back to a stub each season and creating a main branch and secondary branch as you go or is the clip and grow only for the secondary branching ? If you get what I mean

I usually wire the branch down where it comes off the trunk, fatten it up over a few seasons then cut back to a bud nearer the trunk again, this gives you more radical bends than wiring.
