I notice the four move left to right--do you tend to chose left to right movements for your fronts--just wondering if we each have a preference and if this shows as an overall trend in our styling

Guy, :crikey: How observant you are. This is something that I have only become aware of in the last few years. I do agree that we are left or right hand oriented when seeing and designing our Bonsai. I'm ok with any of the upright styles but as soon as a tree becomes slanting, semi-cascade or full cascade they invariably lean from left to right. Even group plantings tend to have a left to right orientation. I just checked and I only have five trees that are right to left and even some of those swing back to the right in the crown or apex. I guess that if you are right handed it feels more comfortable moving from left to right. This an interesting topic and I might start up a new topic so as not to hijack my own thread on Wisterias. Anyone else want to fess up on this issue :?: .
