Really starting to work for me too.
Well done on your perseverance Kez - really paying dividends IMO.

Cheers!

nice with much potential- :2c: -unsure about how natural the main trunk having more slant than the others,looks---perhaps a new planting angle at next repot

what I mean is the main trunk is quite straight so therefore should be almost vertical-whereas the rh trunk should grow away from the main trunk then turn more upright--or not ,as you wish(not criticism -just thoughts) :|

Yeah, I completely understand what Guy is saying. If you are keeping the 3rd trunk, can you give us a side profile of what you have done now. :tu:

Hey folks,

Thanks for the comments, glad to see I'm on the right track

Here's a pic from the side, keep in mind I've only done a small amount of wiring and nothing about re-positioning it, still unsure of whether to keep it as I think its a bit superfluous

Just judging on the photos supplied I like the right hand side view, I see something in that to work with.
You have the advantage of having the tree in your back yard tho' have fun with it

Thanks wattynine,

Just to clarify did u mean the original right view (close to what is now the front) or the current right hand view (see last picture)

Cheers,

HI, that is a great tree1 YOU INITIALLY NEED TRUNK MOVEMENT - heavy wiring with levers and/or a bar will do it. They are very satisfying, I have a good one in the ground.
Be patient and I see a tall tree also.

Hey folks,

This is the tree I took along to work on with Steve Tolley on monday,
IMG_3852 (1024x683).jpg
Final branch placement was left to me and I fear that the master could have delivered a cleaner image but I did my best, the bottom left also looks busy in the pic but there's a whole trunk behind there so without seeing it in person it's hard to get an idea of what it's like.

It was a pleasure working with Steve, he is a fantastic artist and a great guy as well

Hope you all enjoy

I'd like to see your branches bend down on a more extreme angle. It would fill the lower left empty area well and would suit the style of the tree

No difference between sargeants juniper and shimpaku - same tree. Actually it is Juniperus Chinensis variety Kishu. Kishu is the more common variety and is the only one in Australia. Good tree, do not cut it down. Mick

Thought I'd post up a pic of this one with a bit better background (sorry, it's very crude)
