I am sure that some that have ordered lots will be able to spare if you really want one

Just post and ask after we have taken delivery

Also on the delivery / pickup, Steven, when delivery is made, please let me know and I will come and help you sort out the orders on the pallet so you do not get lumbered with the job yourself. You are doing plenty already :-)

I am sure we might be able to celebrate with an ale or 2 when finished :-)

Ken

I just want some dust and the large particles. Akadama and SA's heat+water salts dont really mix too well...
I had asked before about using it, but was told its been tried number of times all with poor results. I want to use it for trunk shaping....

I think Asus is referring to the wire saving technique written by Kusida Matsuo that originally appeared in Bonsai Today issue 20.

Is that right Asus?
If interested, you can read more about this technique on Bonsai Bark.

We will have to think Nationaly next group purchase product to involve all the members.

Can we clarify how many Canberra People there are in this.
I kinda class myself in that so we have
Brett
Scott Roxburgh
Neville

We have good new and very good news :D
The shipment is on it's way and should arrive in Sydney Monday or Tuesday. We still need to organise a day that it will be delivered to our collection point in Rosehill near Parramatta. If anyone can help to unload the bags on short notice send me a PM.
Then a collection day will be announced shortly.
The great news is we have come under budget.
We have got the actual cost down at the moment to $15.70 per bag ready for collection. That is an amazing price as this stuff was selling in the Bonsai clubs in WA for $18 and retail for at least $25. This gives us some interesting options.
We are very close to calling the first Ausbonsai Community Purchase a great success. As mentioned with the success of this endevour there has been discussion of setting up more community purchases.
There could be many possibilities from other potting mediums such as a pallet of miadenwell from Queensland, Fertiliser or other consumables to a pallet of Pots from China. Maybe it is a new product that is not readily available yet and members would like to try it out.
It has been proposed that a small committee be put together that decided whether a project was valid. It would have to pass certain considerations such as not to impact on our treasured bonsai nurseries but at the same time give great value.
Most clubs run well will have available funds for endeavours just such as this to make the original purchase and sell at a bargain price to it's members. We where lucky enough that a benefactor put the money up to facilitate on this occasion.
It is proposed that we start such a fund that will be held in a trust account with such assurities of authority needed from multiple committee members to access just as a club would.
It is suggested that participants in this purchase agree on a proposed sale price for this item and any extra funds be deposited in said trust account. It would be envisaged that future Community purchases made with these funds would see it grow so that we had upfront funds for future purchases and greater buying power. While at the same time giving great value to participants. As with this deal all future endeavours would be fully disclosed just like any club. Future endeavours will not be limited to the original participants and would look towards including other States.
The options for suggested price would be
Per Item cost
$16 extra funds total of $30 used to purchase sausages for BBQ on collection day.
$17 Extra funds total of $100 to Trust account
$18 Extra funds total of $200 to Trust account
$19 Extra funds total of $300 to Trust account
$20 Extra funds total of $400 to Trust account

Feel free to discuss any thoughts and give your preference in the thread or In PM's

And remember we still need some available hands for unloading in Rosehill on short notice which could be any day between Monday to the Weekend. I will give further details as they come to hand.

Don't forget the part you played in this Pup.
It was you who set the ball rolling with the details of the product and where to get it :)
If any Participants have not seen this yet here is a picture of the product that Pup put up in the original thread.
It is the top quality "Double Line" hard akadama

Thanks should also go to Steven and others that have helped facilitate this purchase with everything from buying extra bags to get us accross the line to the continued support of help when needed.

Psst I noticed nominations for free pots are meant to be sent by PM to Steven. LOL
