Nothing on what's been posted already, but, an interesting species I've only seen once or twice before and very pretty at that.
Anyone developing this species?? Ochna serrulata. Not just a stick in a pot...but a twisted stick in a pot at that!

Cheers Ken! They're native to Sth.Africa but are an invasive plant here in Australia. The "flowers" you mention are actually seed pods forming. They (the green pod) turns black and is quite stunning...I'll post a pic as they ripen. Apparently they're popular amongst the Vietnamese community as bonsai subjects...a google image search will show. Common name is the Mickey Mouse bush.
here's another pic taken a few weeks back, the flowers are bright yellow and resemble a "buttercup".

So trident maples begin with a bronze colour after leaf break before going green? That's what my two are doing now although I'll admit they are both young and went without fertiliser during autumn and winter. Nice photos !!

My formal upright Trident is still almost red / brown all over. It will go green in a few weeks.
Others are already gone green

My trident is in flower and I guess will be covered in seeds if I dont remove them all...and the flowers are so insignificant.

Wow! Guess it just depends on how much you actually work on your trees. Until this year I hadn't fertilised them so they were living in exhausted soil. Maybe time for these little starters to be repotted, or at the very least potted out in the open.

Peach tree.... I think (dug and saved before a road widening took place) and manchurian pear... Will be put into the ground to grow on

This old girl flowers but once a year, looks like it's now.

Few more flowers have popped up so I thought I'd add to this thread.

In order of appearance.

1. Cotoneaster flowers, buds and (soon to be) berries!
2. Crabapple I believe
3. Kunzea (not 100% sure on the exact species).

Maybe a few more in the coming weeks...

Really like the little lantana Ken. Does anyway know if it is allowed to dig lantana from the side of the roads, specifically queensland. I would assume it would be okay?
