Apologies for not getting back to you earlier.... I've been in and out of the country a fair bit since January, and missed these ones.
Here it is suited up today... although my photography is not as good as my better half's...
And here is an idea of the leaf-size reduction resulting from ramification and a confined root-system.

I don't bother sieving. Particle size is around 4-7mm.

If you are suggesting maybe thicker branches are more desirable... no. Thinner branches make the trunk appear thicker - likewise, thicker branches make the trunk appear thinner.
Anyway, the branches will slowly thicken over time with foliage density.
"Movement" is the most over-rated term used in bonsai.... I think the branch lines match the trunk to some extent, which IMO is desirable for the overall image. It would look odd if branches were overly moving on this tree.

I used what the tree was offering.
I can see there may be a case for a branch grafted on the lower left, but I'm happy with it ATM.... might consider it later.... maybe.
