There were many deciduous trees but without backgrounds they did not photograph well.

Some people on the Japan Tour stayed on in Japan after the tour; so I think we all made the most of our tour with Shuji.

Here are a couple of pics from Koju-en Shohin nursery in Kyoto - Tomohiro Masumi spoke good english and was very friendly and helpful. I've never been a big shohin fan(pun intended! ), but this nursery changed my mind!

Have you got any photos of the black pines on the cranes. I know I took some but can't find them. Thanks for the pot pictures I didn't have the names of the potteries and have been trying to figure them out.

This was the bonsai trip of a lifetime, it will be on again next year, so don't miss out.
Photos never do it justice.
Shuji is so well organised and includes some the most respected bonsai nurseries and artists in Japan as well as great restaurants, gardens and temples. :

The pots that we got posted home finally arrived on schedule; about 3 months by sea. All beautifully packed and arrived intact.

It was very worthwhile going on the tour with Shuji. At one kiln some pots that we selected and were very happy with at the asking price turned out to be further discounted as some were seconds.

Some were a further 10%, 20%, 40% and even some at %50 further discount(I bought a lot of pots.)

The kiln made this beautiful green glaze.
This one was not a second.

The ones that were discounted 50% were the only ones that had an obvious flaw in the glaze on one side. The others seems fine.

A great opportunity to pick up some Tokoname pots at greatly discounted price if you go on Shujis' tour.
