Re: Squamata Juni aka "the beast"
Well, finally got around to the first repot and angle change on this one,
Not an easy job at all, had to wash significant amounts of clay out of the root ball and remove a number of very large dead roots that were either from the first time this tree was lifted or as a result of the initial deadwood work.
The I had to find a way to prop the tree up in the tub at the new angle, 1; so that I could see the planting angle I was after and 2; to actually get it to stay at that angle as it just wanted to roll sideways and out of the pot, all on my pat malone! Not easy when the tree is the size of this one!
Anyway, in the end I got it done, now it's a nervous 2 month wait to see how it responds
Hope you all enjoy

Re: Squamata Juni aka "the beast"
well after moving back to canberra and getting settled in I found some time for some work over the last week.
I took the opportunity to get into some work that needed doing on the big beast. It has taken root at the new potting angle and was ready for a clean up, and a refinement at the new potting angle. First ste was to remove all the wire on this tree as it had started to cut in in places, then to clean out the thicker areas and tidy up the pads in general.
After that came the job of rewiring and refining the tree and after about 4 days (between work and the baby) worth of work here it is (excuse the background) Next step is to finally get this tree into a pot in autumn if I can find a cascade pot large enough
Cheers,
Kerrin

Nice!
Pic No.2 for me, in a slightly smaller pot.
What is the next phase?
