If so just mind how often you water as it is easy to over do it as the tree has no leaves at the moment it wont draw that much water let it dry out a bit (not too dry) between watering you dont want to rot the roots especially if its sitting in water with the saucer
Hey Kirky, don't recall it having a built in saucer, think that's just the shape though well spotted and good thing to keep an eye out for. Water seemed to pour out ok. I have the pot raised off the deck slightly to allow nice exit of water as per the photo to help.

Will try to allow for it to dry out between watering. Have kept it in shade since saturday to avoid intense sun. Thinking I'll put it back in the sun tomorrow.

Thanks again!

Hey All,

Don't think it's looking good ... when I scratch the trunk, it doesn't seem as green as it used to. Still no sign of new growth also rhe soil hasn't been dry for a week or two or maybe even three. As soon as it looks like it might, we get a day or two of rain. I've only been watering when applying seasol. Water flows will but it just always seems moist.

Should I move him away from the usual place to an under cover spot? Or is full exposure to the elements better than sheltered?

Hi Daniel
Doesn't sound good. You should be seeing buds starting to thicken some even bursting by now. Could be it just got too wet, trees without leaf do not require that much water. You can try moving it to another spot.... But I don't like your chances :shake:
I just lost a Camellia with a similar situation just finished flowering, gave it some organic fertiliser. A few days later had to move it due to some work being done in the yard thought the spriklers were going to cover it and they didn't! I was a way for a week spotted it shrivelled placed it in the shade watered it thought maybe :fc: just started to push thru new buds and we got heavy rain for a few days. It was sitting on a fertilise bucket I didn't register the the blasted thing was sitting in water needless to say the buds have dried up. I'm not holding my breath :palm:
It happens :crybye:

Dang! Thanks kirky.I might try to shelter it for a few weeks, thinking cut up plastic container lid? So it still gets sun, with rain run off and not to sweat it?
