Hi Everyone

I am just a little curious as to how many clubs actually know about Bonsai Week 2017.
Can you please let me know either below, or via PM if your club is not aware of Bonsai Week 2017 and the FREE workshops with Tony Tickle?
I am seeing a lot of club newsletters come across my desk that have no mention of it at all.

BONSAI WEEK is a FREE event for the Australian Bonsai Community, our aim is to be inclusive as possible.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers
Leigh

It is a long way off Leigh so has not got onto our club calendar yet but I'll make sure it goes on this time. We have nominated a couple of members for the club workshop though.

Thanks Shibui

My biggest concern is that clubs are not nominating their members for the workshop.
I have only 3 nominations for the club member workshop.
Nominations close at the end of this month.

I was nominated by my club last year and attended Pavel's workshop. I'm very grateful for the experience. After reading your posts here about 2017, I raised it with my club's committee who didn't know about the event. I directed them to the earlier posts from yourself on this website.

Paul Carey

Thanks to everyone passing on the info to their clubs.
I have had a number of nominations coming through.

The Lender/Donor Workshop has not had very many nominations.
If you are or know of any lenders or donors that might be interested in a free workshop, please get them to get in touch with me.

Cheers

The simple thing to do would be to inform the clubs themselves. Several that I am a member of have not received any official information.
Remember not all club officials look at Ausbonsai.

Thanks Ken and Grim.

I would not like to post a list of names here, just from a privacy point of view. I sent emails to all that I have an email address on file for, but that is certainly not comprehensive.

Grim, our normal channels for contacting the Clubs has unfortunately not worked this time around. We may have to collate our own contact list for all clubs in Australia to avoid this happening again.

I'm a member of the Bonsai Society of Qld, and we had our last meeting for the year on the Saturday just gone. No mention of this was made. :(

Can I assume that if anyone comes for the masterclass they need to bring quality material with them to work on.? or is it just an intimate demo.?
What format will it be.?

Hi Alan

Yes, you are right. Workshop participants will need to bring quality material, suitable for a full day workshop (9am till 4pm).
There are 10 participants per workshop, so Tony will do the usual movement around the workshop to keep everyone busy.

Hi Mel

Bonsai Week is still some time away, so there is plenty of time to organise travel and accommodation. If there are still not enough nominations to fill spaces, I will extend the cut off date. I wanted to allow plenty of time for winners of a workshop to book their travel and accommodation.

Cheers

Thanks Leigh,

I'll make a bit of noise with the new committee members. :)

Hi Everyone

I have decided to extend the closing date for nominations for the workshops.
It seems that many clubs will have just found out about Bonsai Week via email.

If you are in touch with any clubs, please let them know I have extended the date until 10th December 2016.

NEW CLOSING DATE FOR NOMINATIONS: 10 December 2016

Hi All,

:imo: This is your chance to have a unique experience to workshop with an International Bonsai Artist :tu: and improve one of your quality trees even

further  as well as a great learning is to be had in a group of like minded!!!

I was lucky earlier this year to have been selected to work with Pavel :worship: and managed to finish two great trees over the whole day!

AND .... don't miss out on the Demo night ... you might be lucky and buy at the auction a 'Masterpeace' ;)

Don't hesitate :palm: sign up!!!

Cheers,
Rudi
