Just sharing my limited experience but I'll definitely think twice about posting advice in future. Not the greatest response to advice I thought seemed reasonable.

People are just sharing there experiences as you stated you had yours. Its a forum, no need to get upset because someone disagreed with you?

Keep sharing all you can BB. If anything you've reminded me I should be taking more care of my tree's in the hotter months. Don't get disgruntled because others have different thought processes when someone seeks advice.

Hi BB and Pearcy is correct, It is a forum and thus everyone has equal say, but we have to temper what we say to work in the medium. What works well is when we describe our own experience and skill in terms to support our discussion and support others rather than saying "thee shall do X or your tree will die!!! or "You MUST do yy at this tie or your tree will never be a good Bonsai"
That language just turns people off and forces them away, which why as a moderator i tend to jump on those when i see them.

we have to remember that peoples environment and conditions are very different and what works for one is not the same for the next bloke.

Shibui works and lives with his trees so can go and water them at any time of the day so of course they will cope better then yours or mine that get watered in the morning and then have to suffer till early evening. you will find that he describe what he does and does not preach waht to do.

It make scence for us to provide shelter if we can during the hottest part of the year.
Shade cloth, Tree shelter, etch is a good idea, but moving trees in and out several times a day i will disagree with as it will not allow the trees to acclimatise,
