ok so i have slip potted to the to the new potting angle now

and have arranged the primary branching.

I think I will leave the tree to rest now. Next spring the tree will receive a detailed wiring.oh
and yes brad one and the same as far as i know.

I have decided the tree will be ok with fine wiring so I have started to shape the branches.

i love the tree awesome job! but whats with this guy that commented above mine spamming almost every post with his fish tank rubbish he has posted it twice on this post... im not sure who he is or what ever he may be a bonsai artist but for gods sake this is a bonsai forum, not a fish tank forum wish the admins would tell him to stop it or block him, its starting to get annoying...

the tree is finished for now. here is a before and after shot.

After a few hours of detailed wiring the new shape has become more apparent.

I will let the tree rest for a while.

Now to start thinking about finding a suitable pot to get it into next autumn.

I must confess that the first picture I seen of this tree didnt impress me. I believed it to be a bit plastic looking. Can I now say that you have done an amazing job of detracting from that s shape curve and drawing attention to a very pleasing tree. What I have learnt from this thread I will most certainly use on my trees. I love it.

Hey thanks for the kind words guys. can't wait to get this one into a nice pot.

it will really start to look good then, i have just applied some lime sulphur to the trunk.

I have taken a pic of the tree tonight with dark background to see the structure better but the lime sulphur is looking quite bold in the photo. it will fade somewhat with time.

Nice work again Jarryd. Although here is a thought from the man that believes we should not have rules Robert Stevens. An iformal upright tree should never leave the gound straight. I would consider finding a way to alter the angle.
I think the jin is a bit straight and heavy for the tree but I think you will find the balance in time

I bet this is so much more than what was ever expected from this tree. Very well done.

Brilliant job mate, this is becoming a top quality tree. the angle change is definitely what it needed to bring out its best features and take away the static looking curves which now flow much better. the dead wood also looks great and very dramatic. really awesome tree
