I self-disqualified this group after adding a tree mid competition… these Moonah are much harder to work with - slower to grow, less budding back (than say the paperbark or gums). I lost a few trees too. I am not sure what I’ll do with this group in future … I fall in and out of love with it!Image

Because it doesn't do what the others do, doesn't mean it hasn't got its own thing going. It looks very open and wild, and I'd keep following it down that track. It looks like very rough country to me.

These are no longer in the competition - I added a tree - but a final update nonetheless.ImageImage

That’s really nice! Looks like a good spot for a snooze. Love the pot colour combo with the Mels

Looking great Mark. Love the shot into the centre. Very reminiscent of coastal scrub where they trunks are often twisted and lying on the ground, or close to it.

Ha! Dansai - I was just mentioning that habit in R3’s thread. Thanks for the feedback … that’s the look I was aiming at …. Might look ok in twenty years! Natives are such great material for us all to work with - fun, mostly resilient to clumsy human hands, fast growing and varied in habit.
