Thanks again guys,
I reckon I will leave it in the poly tunnel over winter now to stop it getting too wet in the cool season. That is unless anyone has a better suggestion.

I definately believe sheltered in from cold and frost will be a bonus for serrata in winter. winter in Melb knocks mine around, thats for sure and it aint the water.

Well I have got another 10 or so to put in the ground and will see what they do I am interested in keeping another one or two of them, the rest will be up for grabs.

Hi Craig,
I don't know if you've ever tried it but I use it always after root work and (admittedly in my limited experience) I've never lost a tree through re-potting or any root work at all: 'Plantstarter'. A few companies have one, I use the Multicrop one. Seems to work for me with proper after care of course.

Great news. That'll teach me for blowing in and out of this forum willy nilly.)
