Slab trays and landscapes

I'M impressed with the capability of the program , not bad with seedlings but as you say the real trees or aged trees do look better .Do a virt of what you would plant in the small tray maybe 1-2-3 trees using stock you have .Cheers Alpine

when i say more aged trees i am referring to a more finished tree/s that can be placed as a setting of a forest or group, i actually dont have much in the way of stock, but what i will do is search through the forum and use what i beleive to be right?

yes the program is quite good and makes it simple once the basic idea has been reached. the reason why seedlings are hard to work with is because the foliage can be rather sparse and the ability to trace individual needles is near impossible to do right. im glad you are reasonably happy with them so far, i think the way i have been working with them is a little wrong to maybe making the composition to busy instead of working with the simplisticity of 2 or 3 trees.

Can you lay 1 tree on top of the other or stick them side by side tight to make a fuller tree , you can cheat its that sort of program isn't it.Cheers

i tried overlapping the seedlings didnt work too well, i can get them to be in really tight groves which i will put up after, this one is using a three of JBP i found around the place. there has been a little modification to them

ok well here is the one with groves of the seedlings, i have slightly stylised them a bit to make trace factor easier. i think it gives you an idea of how they will look if lots of seedlings were grown together, i dont know how you would go putting little seedlings on the outcroppings, i just think that it needs something on there so i have done so, easy on a computer, maybe not so easy in reality.

i also have thoughts on possibly using ficus in these trays

here is a simple fig setting, i could see the feature tree having alot of airial roots hanging from those branches too

I will seal the tray over the next day or 2 and then gladly send it to its "New Owner".I think Mame Bonsai would work a treat on these landscape trays , but i'm not really into the little ones .Send a P.M for delivery .Thankyou for all your efforts and persistance .Cheers Ian

Hi Great work with your landscape trays. I am having success with fibreglass but still experimenting with different materials and designs to gain the required effects. Not only durable but light weight. Look at the durability of shower bases, baths, planter pots etc. The finishes in colour and texture are endless. I'll get some info and photos together for the forum.
